This book was published in January 2003, the same time the late Carolyn Rhea was diagnosed with a form of leukemia and returned to heaven in April 2003.

Carolyn Rhea, our mother and author of When Grief Is Your Constant Companion, was already an experienced author when her husband of 30 years, Claude, died of heart failure while traveling in Paris in 1990. In her book, she recounts her journey of grief with transparency. She said of her book, "I pray that God will use my book to comfort and encourage those who are grieving and to help those who are not better understand those who are."
